This is a small project, which was inspired by a combination of lessons I took from the Rebelway courses The Art of Magical FX and Energy Shield Portal. In Houdini I created a particle effect for the shield and added some lighting effect. Then I created a material for the body of the shield. And finally I added an impact effect of the hit in Niagara using C++.
A portal mesh was taken from the Energy Shield Portal lesson.
